Winter Cycling - Our Favourite Accessories

  Now that old man winter has arrived in our part of the woods, we find ourselves mulling our essential accessories that keep us riding over the winter. Of course you need a great jacket, base layer and pants but we can't forget the all important additions that help us ride in comfort over the winter months. With that in mind, here's our list of essential accessories for winter cycling. Essential item number one, a winter cap. These caps, like our Sherbourne Winter cap have a warm ear flap that will keep your ears covered and more importantly warm. A wool collar will keep you neck protected from the frigid winter winds and can be used to cover your face when your speed increases....

Cycling Tip - Fix a Squeaky Chain On The Go

Have you ever ridden to work in the rain only to find that your trusty bike bike developed a squeaky chain during the 8 hours you've been toiling away? Chains can rust out if they aren't cared for, especially after a soaking. But a lot of us don't want the hassle of carryng around bottles of chain lube either. Our tip: repurpose a perfume sample vial... the kind that has a tiny sprayer, and fill it with your chain lube. Cycling Tip - How to Quickly Dry Your Shoes

If you've ridden through torrential rain and arrived at work in soggy cycling shoes, try stuffing your shoes with newspaper. The newspaper will absorb all the moisture and your shoes will be dry in a jiffy! I've used this technique on many occasions and it's made my return ride home a lot more comfortable.
